Heart-Brain Harmonization Technique
Gregg Braden shares the Heart-Brain Harmonization technique, or balancing the heart and brain, to help reduce daily stress using interesting scientific principles:
Key Points
Scientific Discovery: In 1991, scientists discovered approximately 40,000 special cells in the heart called sensory neurites, which function like miniature brains, capable of thinking, feeling, and remembering independently from the cranial brain.
Power of Self-Control: Humans are the only species capable of controlling their own biological systems through thoughts, feelings, emotions, and breath to create harmony between the heart and brain.
0.1 Hertz Frequency: Creating this harmony at a frequency of 0.1 Hertz not only helps balance the body internally but also aligns with the earth's resonance frequency.
Meditation Technique for Balancing
1. Focus on the Heart: Place your hand on your heart and shift your attention from your thoughts to the feeling around your heart.
2. Breath: Breathe slowly. 1. Extend the exhalation phase beyond the inhalation phase (e.g., 5 seconds in, 8 seconds out) to send a safety signal to the nervous system.
2. Create positive feelings: Use feelings of gratitude or compassion to create a state of balance.
Benefits:
Practicing this technique for just 3 minutes a day can help reduce stress (lower cortisol), increase DHEA levels (the anti-aging hormone), boost the immune system, and prepare the body for recovery and rebalancing.
